Ocean's 11 : Movie Review

The location is Las Vegas, the target - a highly protected vault where three of the cities largest casinos store their takings. A big fight is to be staged between Tyson and Lennox Lewis and the massive crowd will have the vault stuffed with $160 million.

This gives Danny Ocean (George Clooney) the opportunity for a spectacular heist, for which he needs a team of highly skilled, slightly insane accomplices.

What Director, Steven Soderbergh, does with Ocean's 11 is nothing too far from the beaten track, but, although it's not unchartered territory, what results is a slick film with a clever twist.

Sound performances from a cast that work well together help it along and ensure there's no scenes that drag. Funny moments are few and far between, but there's a constant energy and waggishness from the characters throughout.

Julia Roberts makes an appearance as Clooney's ex-wife who he intends to get back from Benedict (Andy Garcia), whist he is stealing his money.

Ocean's 11 is an enjoyable if not entirely original film with enough momentum and suspense to keep the audience engaged.
