Orlando (1992) - Details
Tilda Swindon stars in this wonderfully - adapted for screen - odyssey about a young sixteenth century nobleman, whose youthful passions and melancholies set him on a strange journey of love, self discovery and personal endurance. Orlando manages the somewhat dautning task of living for four hundred years, during which he finds himself tranformed into a woman "and because this is England, everyone pretends not to notice." Sarah Potter has created a visual masterpiece. No small feat considering the fact that many thaught the book (by Virginia Woolf) would be impossible to adapt for the big screen. By Anna Luetic
