One night, screenwriter Steven Philips is the proud recipient of a Hollywood humanitarian award. The next morning, a loathsome studio exec tells him that he's lost his "edge", and boots him off the lot. Crestfallen, Steven seeks advice from his rampantly successful friend Jack, who divulges that his good fortune was inspired by a real-life Muse.
