Ivan Reitman, who made "ghostbusting" a household word with his smash hit comedies Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989) now takes on the theory of "Evolution. "

The comedy follows the chaos that ensues when a meteor hits the Earth carrying alien life forms that give new meaning to the term "survival of the fittest." David Duchovny ("The X-Files", Return to Me (1999)), Orlando Jones (Bedazzled (2000), Replacements, The (2000)), Seann William Scott (Road Trip (2000), American Pie (1999)) and two-time Oscar® nominee Julianne Moore (end of the Affair, The (1999) Boogie Nights (1997)) star as the only people standing between the aliens and world domination.

"Evolution" is directed by Ivan Reitman from a screenplay by David Diamond & David Weissman and Don Jakoby, from a story by Don Jakoby.

It is produced by Ivan Reitman, Daniel Goldberg and Joe Medjuck under the banner of Reitman's and Tom Pollock's The Montecito Picture Company. Pollock, Jeff Apple and David Rodgers served as executive producers, with Paul Deason co-producing, and Sheldon Kahn, Kenneth Schwenker and
Ronell Venter associate producing.

DreamWorks is distributing "Evolution" domestically, with Columbia Pictures handling the international release.
