Falcon and the Snowman, The

The fictionalized account of a real event, The Falcon and the Snowman tells the story of Christopher Boyce, the Falcon (played by Timothy Hutton) and Andrew Daulton Lee, the Snowman (played by Sean Penn). A Catholic seminary dropout, Boyce takes a government job that gives him access to classified material. When he sees what the CIA is doing in foreign countries, he is outraged and decides to retaliate by selling US secrets to the Soviet Union. He enlists the help of his drug-dealing, drug-using friend Lee in contacting the Soviet Embassy in Mexico City. Boyce's secret life begins crumbling when the rapacious Soviets pressure him for more information and his drug-addicted partner's behavior becomes more and more erratic.
