Kicking & Screaming (2005) - Synopsis
Will Ferrell and Robert Duvall star in a lively comedy about the cutthroat, hyper-competitive world…of little league soccer. Phil (Ferrell) refuses to compete with his driven father, Buck (Duvall), despite Buck’s attempts over the years to make everything between them a contest—when Phil makes plans to marry, Buck trumps him by marrying an old school friend of Phil’s. And just when Phil and his young bride are expecting a baby, his dad and new wife announce that they’re pregnant first. Phil is determined to raise his son, Sam, differently, and signs up to assistant coach Sam’s soccer team, the Tigers. But when the head coach leaves, Phil is goaded into heading the team by Buck—who happens to coach the preeminent team of the league, the Gladiators. Old scores come into play as Phil keeps raising the stakes in his all-out attempt to win the league championship.
