Hotel Transylvania 4 Gets a Christmas 2021 Release Date.

Hotel Transylvania 4 is positioning itself as a big holiday release for 2021. Sony Pictures Animation has announced an official release date for the animated sequel. And it will be arriving Wednesday, December 22.

While there's been no formal announcement about the cast, it's likely the stars of the previous three films in the series, including Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Steve Buscemi and David Spade, will return for the new movie.

While the December 2021 slate has yet to be fully formed, "Hotel Transylvania 4" is currently set to run against the third installment of James Cameron's long-gestating "Avatar" series, along with Universal's adaptation of the hit "Wizard of Oz" musical "Wicked".

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation was a huge box office hit, becoming Sony Pictures' biggest animated movie of all time. It earned a huge haul of $528M with 32% of that coming from the domestic side. The previous sequel had earned only $474.8 million, so this is the rare franchise where the sequels keep getting better, pulling in bigger audiences.
