Andy Serkis In Talks To Potentially Direct Venom Sequel.

Andy Serkis is reportedly one of the directors Sony is hoping takes on Venom 2. Ruben Fleischer helmed the first installment, which went on to earn over $856 million at the global box office, but he will not be returning.

With Spiderman Far From Home crossing the $1 billion worldwide gross line it seems that the executives at Sony are now even more eager to get the sequel to Venom starring Tom Hardy rocking and rolling.

According to the trade, Andy Serkis (Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle), Travis Knight (Bumblebee) and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) are among the names who have been speaking to Sony executives, although it's not believed at this point that a front-runner has been identified.

Sony reportedly wants to have the Venom 2 production start before November of this year.
