Neil Patrick Harris is the latest addition to the ensemble cast for the upcoming fourth installment of the "Matrix" franchise.

He will join the previously cast Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who will be reprising their roles of Neo and Trinity in the film. Yahya Abdul-Mateen (Aquaman) was also recently cast in the movie and he’s rumored to be playing a younger version of Morpheus.

Jada Pinkett Smith is also in negotiations to return for Warner Bros./Village Roadshow's The Matrix 4. She played the role of Niobe in parts 2 and 3, The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions.

Lana Wachowski, co-creator and director of The Matrix, is directing the new installment for Warner Bros. The studio is producing and distributing the pic with Village Roadshow Productions.The film is expected to begin production at the beginning of 2020.
