Hurley Drew On Patriotism For Strength

Sexy actress LIZ HURLEY drew strength from comments her father made when she once stood outside a store as she faced angry protesters at the premier of her new film BEDAZZLED last week (17OCT00).

Liz braved a demonstration, even though the head of publicity at TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX called and told her that she did not have to attend the premier of the film and advised her to have a quiet dinner instead.

Liz, broke a SCREEN ACTORS GUILD (SAG) strike by filming an ESTEE LAUDER cosmetics commercial, claiming afterwards that she didn't know about the strike. And she says, "It may sound like a mad analogy but when I was young and the family was standing in a giant queue at SAINSBURYS in Basingstoke my father would say, 'Remember you're British.' "He said it with a twinkle in his eye, partly as a joke. But a part of him was also deadly serious. "And when the phonecall came I thought of that."

Elizabeth admits that she nearly did tell the driver to take her back to her hotel - but only because she was worried what she might do if she lost her temper.
