AOL, Time Warner Pay Lobbyists Millions

America Online and Time Warner have together spent $3.8 million between January and June of this year to lobby Congress and the administration on their proposed merger and other issues, the Wall Street Journal reported today (Wednesday), citing congressional lobbying reports. The newspaper noted that the figure does not include payment to outside lobbyists dealing with the merger at the FCC and FTC. At the same time, the WSJ said, Disney has spent $1.9 million opposing the merger.
