Banderas Saves Melanie's Movie

Movie hunk ANTONIO BANDERAS has stepped in to save his wife's cash- strapped Irish film.

WORKING GIRL star MELANIE GRIFFITH was reduced to tears last month (OCT00) when she was told that LIMO MAN was being axed. The film was due to begin shooting in Dublin when a major backer pulled out.

But just like his film hero ZORRO, Banderas rode to the rescue.
Within a couple of weeks he had raised the necessary cash to put Limo Man back on the road again.

The film will now definitely begin shooting in Dublin next March
(01). Director BARRY DEVLIN refuses to comment on the involvement of Banderas, but confirms the film is back on track.
He says, "Limo Man is just parked at the moment. But Melanie is
still on board and we will begin filming on 2 March."

The movie is said to be based on the relationship between
Hollywood superstar JULIA ROBERTS and a Dublin chauffeur named MICK DEVINE.

THE GENERAL star BRENDAN GLEESON was originally lined up as the limo man in question, but it is not certain if he will still be available next year. (RXT/IS/NFA)
