Gay Internet site PlanetOut on Wednesday launched its third Online Queer Digifest in conjunction with the 14th annual New York Lesbian & Gay Experimental Film/Video Festival (Nov. 15-19).

The online site is showcasing digitally produced shorts with gay themes. In a news release, Jenni Olson, PlanetOut entertainment producer said of the event, "Given the scarcity of images out there for gays and lesbians -- particularly outside major urban areas -- the Internet offers a revolutionary source of access to positive gay moving images. In many ways we're serving as a 24-hour gay online movie channel."
