Sean Connery For Austin Powers?

AUSTIN POWERS director JAY ROACH is desperately trying to secure SEAN CONNERY for his new film - but the veteran actor keeps rebuffing his overtures.

Roach is making a prequel to his spoof comedy hit series, starring MIKE MYERS and wants the former JAMES BOND to play a super-spy in his new movie - but suspects the Scot is too precious to accept. He says, "We've always wanted SEAN CONNERY. We've tried talking to his people and they were very polite - schedules and stuff - but he may just not want to go there." (CPT/WNWCAN)
