Disney Exec Predicts Studio's Biggest Weekend

The president of Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Disney's film releasing unit, is predicting that the studio will have its biggest weekend at the box office ever.

With 102 Dalmatians and Unbreakable as the only two new films opening wide, BV President Chuck Viane told CBS MarketWatch Thursday, "This particular weekend is poised to break all the old records. ... This holiday is dynamic."

Some analysts are predicting that the two films combined could rake in more than $100 million over the five-day holiday period. "There's nothing else opening wide (this weekend)," Exhibitor Relations chief Paul Dergarabedian told MarketWatch. "It's going to be incredible."
