Hollywood star MICHAEL DOUGLAS was so smitten after his first date with CATHERINE ZETA JONES he wanted her to have his baby straight away.

But the WONDERBOYS actor, who is now married to the Welsh beauty, was initially knocked back - and it was only thanks to his perseverence that Catherine changed her mind.

He says, "I had fallen so heavily for her that I told her I wanted to father her children. "But she said she'd heard a lot about me, was glad to hear it was all true and said 'goodnight'!"
