"Later" for Later

NBC's late-night Later, created as a vehicle for sportscaster Bob Costas in 1988, will bite the dust next month. The interview program, which airs at 1:35 a.m., is due to be replaced with a potpourri of mostly comedy shows to showcase new talent and test programs that could wind up in primetime, the New York Daily News reported today (Monday).
