British Watchdog Censures Angel

British TV watchdog ITC has reprimanded commercial broadcaster Channel 4 for airing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff, Angel, at a time when children might be watching. The ITC said that it had received more than 80 complaints about the show, many of them arguing that it was often "reminiscent of a late-night horror film." Channel 4 claimed that it had edited episodes so that they could be enjoyed by both younger and older viewers. And indeed, the BBC reported Sunday that several viewers had complained about the heavy cuts.
