SAG Fines Liz Hurley $100,000

Insisting yet again that she was unaware that SAG and AFTRA were engaged in a strike against TV commercial producers when she filmed an Estée Lauder spot last July, actress Liz Hurley said Sunday that she will pay a fine of $100,000 assessed against her by the Screen Actors Guild's trial board. (The figure is twice the amount assessed against Tiger Woods.) In a statement, Hurley said, "Although I am deeply disappointed that the trial board disregarded the evidence showing that I never received notice of the strike, I will abide by their decision." During a union hearing, SAG officials acknowledged that they had sent out strike notices with inadequate postage to the U.K.
