Turn In A Potter Domain, Get A Calender

Meanwhile, the British online magazine The Register, which covers news about the Internet, reported Wednesday that Warner Bros. has agreed to pay the Harry Potter site operators for the costs of turning over their domain names to the studio.

Once the studio receives proof that the name has been relinquished, it reportedly reimburses the operator for the transfer costs and then mails him or her a Harry Potter calendar. The Register also reported that when the studio is asked by the operator what domain name can be used, it replies that it can be anything that doesn't refer to Harry Potter or the books -- leading The Register to comment: "What the hell are you supposed to call a Harry Potter fan site, and how would anyone find it?"
