Plug Pulled On Basic Instinct II

SHARON STONE's much anticipated return to BASIC INSTINCT has been shelved, according to reports.

PAUL VERHOEVEN, who directed the first Basic Instinct had already declined the assignment, reportedly over a failure to communicate with Stone. Stone settled for a $15 million (£10 million) fee and, according to her representative CINDI BERGER, she was already training for the role.

But American gossip columnist LIZ SMITH insists the movie studio MGM has shelved the film and will not be making the sequel at all. (SVD/LAT/RGS)
