WILL SMITH is caught in the middle of a family feud between his wife JADA PINKETT SMITH and his beloved mother CAROLYN.

Friends of the MEN IN BLACK star say Smith, who is very close to his mother, is distraught that she's at constant war with Jada - who Carolyn believes isn't "good enough for her son". One pal says, "Will's caught between a rock and a hard place. Will's mum thinks that Jada isn't good enough for her son and Jada believes that Will's mum is a meddling busybody."

Friends add that Smith is exasperated to find Carolyn continually asking him, "Why are you still with her? She's just not right for you." And the pals claim Carolyn has always preferred Smith's first wife SHEREE ZAMPINO, who spent more time at home with their son TREY than Jada, who has her own acting career. But although Smith is struggling to keep the peace, friends say he has a secret weapon - Carolyn dotes on his and Jada's children JADEN, two, and three-month-old WILLOW.
