Exhibitor Relations chief Paul Dergarabedian has credited the teamwork of the two Viacom siblings, Paramount and MTV, with the surprising success of Save the Last Dance. The two companies jointly produced the film. In an interview appearing in today's (Wednesday) Los Angeles Times, Dergarabedian remarked: "I think that the marketing tie-in with MTV was key. They heavily saturated MTV with information about this film."
