KIM BASINGER's father has blasted his son-in-law ALEC BALDWIN for letting his fierce temper wreck his marriage.

Retired loan manager DON BASINGER, 77, claims his LA CONFIDENTIAL star daughter has filed for divorce from Baldwin because the fellow actor had a complete inability to control his anger.

Kim's dad says his actress daughter even dragged Baldwin to counselling sessions - but was too much of "a jerk" to understand anything, and always walked out prematurely. Basinger says, "Alec has this kind of anger where he reaches down for something that hurts, something that may have happened a year or two ago, and then abuses Kim with it. "This has happened but it's when it started happening in front of their daughter IRELAND that Kim finally said, 'Well I'm not going to put up with that. You've got to overcome this anger, or I can't live with you.'"

Don also reveals the couple never moved into the $1.7 million (£1.1m) home they bought in the Hamptons, New York, because his daughter wanted to stay in Los Angeles, and they failed to resolve where they would live and bring up their daughter. But, despite his disappointment, Don insists he doesn't want to make and enemy of his son-in-law.
