Super Bowl Half-Time Show Drew The Teens


The MTV-produced Super Bowl halftime show produced a 40.0 rating and a 59 share and helped deliver a younger audience to the telecast, MTV said Monday. It noted that the 29.9 rating for persons aged 12-17 during the 8:00-8:30 p.m. ET period, when the halftime show aired, was up 5 percent above last year, even while overall household ratings for the game itself were down. "We wanted to present one of the loudest, most energetic and memorable halftime performances in Super Bowl history and we think we achieved that," Van Toffler, President of MTV, said in a statement.
