Hoping to dispel criticism that its primary raison d'čtre is to allow viewers to skip commercials, personal video recorder marketer TiVo said Tuesday that it has signed a deal with Miller Brewing Co. to develop interactive advertising for the beer maker. In a statement, TiVo's program director, Stacy Jolna, said: "TiVo is committed to working closely with innovative advertisers." Under the one-year deal, Miller will get a seat on TiVo's advertising board.
