Four Seasons and That's It. Says Soprano's Producer

The fourth season of The Sopranos will be its last, the show's creator, David Chase, told an event at the Museum of Modern Art on Monday night. In an interview with the New York Times the following day (and appearing in today's -- Wednesday -- editions), Chase appeared to hedge a bit: "My deal goes through four seasons, and, at present, that would be my wish that the show end then. A lot of us on the show have an aversion to the idea of a show existing past its prime. I've seen that happen to a series, when they're repeating themselves and they become desperate for stories." The third season of the acclaimed series is scheduled to premiere on March 4.
