For the first time, Friends has beaten Survivor: The Australian Outback in their head-to-head competition -- at any rate, in the first half hour. Between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Thursday night the NBC sitcom drew a 15.8 rating and a 23 share, edging out the CBS reality show's 15.5/23, according to Nielsen overnights. However, in the second half hour, which included 20 minutes of Friends outtakes, the CBS show pulled well ahead with a 17.4/25 to the Friendly opposition's 16.5/24.
