McCartney To Discuss Beatles Break Up In ABC Documentary


Paul McCartney has described in some detail the trauma he experienced following the break-up of the Beatles for a two-hour documentary, Wingspan, that is due to be broadcast on ABC in May, the BBC reported Thursday.

In the documentary, McCartney reportedly indicates that he felt his career was over following the split. "I always thought you could not follow the Beatles," he says at one point, revealing that the breakup led him to to the point of breakdown. McCartney spokesman George Baker told the BBC: "I've never even heard him talk about it off camera before now." In the documentary, McCartney also speaks for the first time about his 10-day spell in a Japanese jail after he was arrested on charges of marijuana possession at Narita airport in 1980
