MEG RYAN is begging her estranged husband DENNIS QUAID to take her back and give their marriage a second chance.

After the break-up of her highly publicised and heated affair with PROOF OF LIFE co-star RUSSELL CROWE, the 39-year-old actress has realised Dennis is the only man for her.

A friend of Ryan says, "Meg has come to her senses and realises that Dennis is the best thing that ever happened to her." But Quaid, who is reportedly dating ANDIE MACDOWELL, appears reluctant to take RYAN back.

A source close to the couple reveals, "He's told there's no way they're getting back together anytime soon if ever. Dennis is very cautious, he was hurt so very badly by her. Besides, he has been dating Andie MacDowell and having quite a good time with the budding romance." (DAR/WNTEX/KW)
