Katharine Hepburn: Spencer Tracy Was Not Bisexual

LATEST: Hollywood legend KATHARINE HEPBURN is fuming over reports that her long-time actor lover, SPENCER TRACY, was bisexual.

RICHARD GULLEY, who was once an aide of studio boss JACK WARNER, makes the shocking claim in the new issue of magazine VANITY FAIR. He states, "Homosexuality for many stars was an opportunistic thing, a passing phase to get their careers off." But 93-year-old Hepburn has slammed the claim as "ridiculous" along with Tracy's daughter, SUSANNA. Gulley, a gay British aristocrat who died last year (01), went on to allege that Tracy, the star of such films as CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS and INHERIT THE WIND, was "never sober. I don't think he functioned as a man. He and Katharine Hepburn had chemistry only on screen."

Hepburn and Tracy, who co-starred in the classic GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER began a lifelong relationship in 1942. A friend of Hepburn's says that she has assured one and all Tracy was all man. Spencer Tracy died on 10 June 1967. (RP/WNWCNT/PDD)
