The home of late movie legend WALTER MATTHAU has been sold for $5.5 million (£3.7 million).

Built in 1934, the five-bedroom home in Pacific Palisades is expected to be renovated. The comic genius's widow CAROL sold another Matthau home - in Malibu - for the same sum last year (00). The actor died in July (00), aged 79. (KL/LAT/PDD)
