The Harry Winston-designed pearl and diamond necklace that Elizabeth Taylor wore in ads for her Black Pearl perfume is due to be auction by Phillips auctioneers in New York on Oct. 23, the New York Post reported today (Wednesday).

The newspaper observed that the actress "is even more of an icon in places like Hong Kong and Tokyo" than she is in the U.S., a circumstance, it said, that has produced "intense" interest in the necklace.
