TV actor Gary Olsen died of cancer in Australia on Tuesday (12SEP00). He was 42-year-old.

Olsen was born on 3 November 1957 and first came to prominence as the no nonsense Pc LITTEN in the hit British THAMES TV cop show THE BILL. He went on to achieve greater fame in the smash hit BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION sitcom 2.4 CHILDREN in which he played BEN, long-suffering husband of Belinda Lang's BILL.

He appeared regularly in films and his last movie, 24 Hours in London (2000), was released in July 2000.

Olsen was married twice. His first wife was beautiful actress Candy Davis, a former stripper and MISS NUDE UK, who achieved a measure of celebrity as Old Mr Grace's sexy secretary in ARE YOU BEING SERVED? She later returned to stripping and kissagrams to support the couple. (PDD)
