Michael Douglas Attacks George W. Bush

MICHAEL DOUGLAS is the latest movie star to publicly criticise PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH - attacking his choice of nominee for Arms Control Under Secretary. The President, who has been called a "moron" by THE WEST WING star MARTIN SHEEN, is getting short shrift from Douglas, who has posted a message on his website criticising the Republican President's nomination of JOHN BOLTON for Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security. Douglas writes, "Bolton is opposed to the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty, which is the cornerstone of strategic nuclear stability around the globe. "
The actor, who is a UNITED NATIONS special representative for nuclear disarmament, adds, "Bolton is also an opponent of the U. N. International Criminal Court, multilateral engagement and the Landmines Treaty. " The WALL STREET(1987) star goes on to urge his fans to send Bush internet epostcards expressing their concern, asking them to "tell your friends". (LE/WNWC/PDD)
