PEARL HARBOR (2001) star KATE BECKINSALE has no regrets about quitting her university education to concentrate on acting.

The British actress was studying at OXFORD UNIVERSITY when she took time out to work on KENNETH BRANAGH's film MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (1993), and then decided not to go back to graduate.

She says, "I wasn't after a degree and I always wanted to be an actress. "I've been around actors my entire life. I need to be around people passionate about what they do. I knew I wouldn't go the distance at Oxford. My passion was literature. " (KAB/WNTEX/RP)
