Stunning ANGELINA JOLIE loved playing TOMB RAIDER (2001) hero LARA CROFT - because it made her feel beautiful.

The slender GIRL, INTERRUPTED (1999) star, who admits she's never had very high self esteem when it comes to her appearance, says transforming herself into computer heroine Croft gave a massive boost to her self image.

Jolie says, "She made me feel beautiful for the first time in my life. "We filmed much of the movie in Cambodia. I loved running through the jungle, getting very sweaty and enjoying the fact that I was playing this very physically-threatening character. "Since that time, I've felt confident in my looks.
