Welsh actress CATHERINE ZETA JONES is desperately trying to lose weight to fit into a fairy-tale wedding dress created by top designer VALENTINO.

Catherine, who marries Hollywood star MICHAEL DOUGLAS on 18 November (00) at the PLAZA HOTEL in New York, wants to lose 4 kgs (14 lbs) before the event.

The raven-haired beauty gave birth to baby DYLAN last month (AUG00) and is now working out daily with a personal trainer to slim for the size eight dress. The lavish ceremony and reception will cost around $2 million (£1.3 million).

A friends says, "Valentino will be choosing her dress because she loves him. Catherine is pulling out all the stops to look her best."
