Hollywood heart-throb GREG KINNEAR once checked into TV soap opera GENERAL HOSPITAL - to treat a case of bad acting.

In the satirical movie NURSE BETTY, Kinnear plays a soap opera star on a popular hospital drama. And he explains, "General Hospital let me hang around their set for a couple of days. It's a very technical way of working. It's far too perplexing for me. "TOOTSIE is one of my favourite films, so that's what I thought soap opera was - all improvisation. "The writers of the show are on set at all times watching to make sure the actors don't butcher their dialogue. If they do, you can be certain they'll die in a boat accident before the week is out."
