Drink troubled actor BEN AFFLECK turned to his ex-alcoholic father for help in his own addiction battle. TIM AFFLECK, a substance abuse counsellor, has been giving his famous son support as he tries to beat his demons.

He says, "I haven't touched a drop of alcohol in 10 years. Both my sons gave me tremendous support and helped me through that period. "
