Angelina Humbled By Mercy Mission

Hollywood stunner ANGELINA JOLIE has been humbled by her experiences during her mercy mission to war-torn Sierra Leone earlier this year (01).

The TOMB RAIDER (2001) star joined a UNITED NATIONS team on a 14-day trip to the West African country, where she met traumatised refugees who told her horrific stories of how friends and relatives were raped and murdered during years of civil war.

Encounters with people whose limbs where hacked off by rebels reduced the actress to tears. Angelina recalled, "A man told me how he lost his arm from the elbow down. He said, 'The lucky ones are amputees. We are alive - but many die form blood loss or infection. ' I felt humbled to be among such brave people. " (RP/WNTSU/KW)
