The Rev. Ellwood "Bud" Kieser, founder of Paulist Productions, which, among other things, turned out the television series Insight and the theatrical film Romero, died of colon cancer in Los Angeles Saturday at the age of 71, the New York Times reported today.
In an obituary, the Times quoted E.R. producer John Wells, who once wrote scripts for Kieser, as saying, "He encouraged writers to show and glorify the way individuals can make a difference. He was interested in showing the best parts of human nature."
