Emmy's Might Not Happen

EMMY Awards producer DON MISCHER fears this year's (01) TV awards might not happen after yesterday's (11SEP01) horror terrorist attack in New York. A host of stars, including the casts of THE SOPRANOS and SEX & THE CITY, had flown to Los Angeles for Sunday's (16SEP01) show and were left staring at TV screens in disbelief in a very quiet Hollywood.

Mischer immediately cancelled the event, claiming such a song and dance show would be inappropriate after such a national disaster. And now he admits the show might not go on at all:

"This is a national crisis and no time to be handing out awards or to comment on what people are wearing. We don't know when the awards will happen. We don't even know how many participants will want to fly again soon. We're in a period of national mourning. " (KL/DV/NFA)
