"We'll Run Rings Round Potter"

LORD OF THE RINGS star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is happy his film is being compared to HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE (2001) - because he knows his is better. The veteran actor, who plays heroic dwarf GIMLI in the fantasy trilogy, is convinced the depth and meaning of PETER JACKSON's movies will outweigh child's story Potter in fans' eyes.

He says, "I dread to say it, but I think when the two films are looked at side by side, you'll see that ours has a texture, a depth and a moral dimension that will make Harry Potter look a little slight. And that's not a bad thing. I'm not being dismissive of Harry Potter. I think it will do well. But it's pretty lightweight stuff. " (NFA/WNTST/BRC)
