A group calling itself Citizens for Fair Treatment filed a lawsuit on Sept. 15 charging the top motion picture studios with the "pervasive and aggressive marketing" of R-rated movies to underage children.
The suit, which included a copy of the Sept. 10th Federal Trade Commission report criticizing the studios' marketing practices, said in part: "This unscrupulous, unethical, unlawful and deceptive marketing of violence and adult content to impressionable children was intended solely to reap greater profits at the expense of children and the general public."
