Dan Aykroyd's TV Fantasy

Dan Aykroyd longed so much for a TV when he was younger, he used to peer at sets through other people's windows - even when they were switched off.

The Ghostbusters (1984) star admits that nobody in his immediate family owned a TV set while he was growing up, forcing him to admire the picture box from a distance.

He recalls, "We waited quite late to get a television set. Colour TV was unheard of. The nearest my family came to colour TV in the '60s was that my grandmother lived next to people who had one. We'd go next door and look through the window to see it. It wasn't even on."
