Director Gets Beaten Up In Restaurant

Larry Clark, the director of the controversial film Kids (1996) was arrested after attacking the boss of distributor, Metro Tartan.

Clark lost his temper over dinner in the Charlotte Street Hotel and threw a table over Hamish McAlpine after punching him in the face. Then Larry was then said to have leapt on him and tried to strangle him and had to be restrained by restaurant staff.

The police released a statement about the incident, "On arrival officers found a 47-year-old man with a cut nose. He alleged assault against a 59-year-old man," said a police spokesperson.

"The man, who was known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of ABH and taken to Marylebone Police Station, where he was later given a caution and released.

The two men, who were dining together, became involved in an argument during which the suspect hit the victim in the face."

Metro Tartan have dropped Clark's new film, Ken Park from the London Film Festival and have refused to have anything to do with it or it's director in the future.
