Monty Python's Holy Grail takes top spot

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) has been voted the favourite British film of all time.

The film topped a poll of 7,000 people by Amazon.co.uk and the Internet Movie Database website.

The film kept Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange off the top spot.

Trainspotting was third in the poll, while the classic Lawrence of Arabia was voted fourth.

Monty Python's The Life of Brian was seventh and Love Actually was 10th.

Other films to make the 20 included Italian Job, The (1969), Four Weddings And A Funeral (1994) and Withnail And I (1987). However, only one Bond film made it - Goldfinger (1964) is at 11.
