Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Sandra Bullock, Ashley Judd and Uma Thurman are in negotiations to star in a remake of the 1939 comedy The Women.
Diane English, who wrote the script, will make her directorial debut reports Variety.
Shooting is expected to begin in February, with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger producing and supervising the soundtrack.
Bening will play the wronged woman (Norma Shearer's role), while Thurman would take the Joan Crawford part of the husband-stealer.
Ryan, Bullock and Judd will play characters that are composites of some in the original.
