Christian Slater has split from his wife Ryan Haddon.

It is believed Ryan, 32, found it difficult living in England and wants to take the couple's two kids back to the US reports The Sun.

However Slater - who has moved out of the family's London home into a flat - loves the UK and wants to stay to pursue his stage career.

The couple moved to Britain last summer as Slater appeared in the West End play One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

The 35-year-old - best known for his role in Interview With The Vampire - is now in a flat in Buckingham Gate, Westminster.

A friend said: "Christian loves England but Ryan never really felt at home. They are both very sad."

Slater's spokesman was reported as saying the couple are having a "trial separation".
